As summer begins, Drew* has many accomplishments to celebrate. With encouragement and consistent support from his Friend, Christian; his mom; and his teachers, he blossomed throughout first grade and is ready to take on second grade with newfound confidence.

His teacher honored him with a Growth Award in recognition of the remarkable strides he made academically and personally. He also earned an award for his consistent effort in PE, a testament to the determination he brings to everything he tries. Add karate, soccer, and the Friends - Colorado summer camp full of new friendships to the list, and it's clear: Drew is on a roll!

What makes these accomplishments even more significant is knowing the bravery they required. Drew and his mom have always shared a close bond, the kind that comes from a young parent who has been present and devoted from the very beginning. Stepping out independently into new environments was a big ask for Drew, but after much practice with Christian and hard work, he is finding pride in doing things on his own.

Today, Drew engages with peers with enthusiasm, holds himself accountable, and carries a sense of self-sufficiency. He is thriving, and he is just getting started!
